Laura Bannister is a writer, editor, and copy director based in Manhattan. Her features and essays—on art, culture, and visual spectacle—have appeared in publications including T Magazine, The Cut, Architectural Digest, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Apartamento, Frieze, BOMB, Vice, The Paris Review, The Whitney Review of New Writing, and Dirt.
She is the editor and co-author of Out in the World with Gaetano Pesce (2021), published by Museum Books. For five years prior, she was founding editor of Museum Magazine, a biannual art and fashion title sold worldwide.
Laura consults as a copy director for advertising agencies and brands. She has led global campaigns, rebrands, and product launches, scripted TV spots, named companies, buildings, and artworks, edited books, zines, and magazines, and much more for dozens of clients, including Nike, Armani, Belvedere, Calvin Klein, Google, Glossier, Artnet, and the restaurateur Daniel Boulud.
Laura grew up in Sydney, Australia. She has a degree in media and communications from the University of Sydney.
